Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated is seeking an Associate Director to lead CMC Quality Compliance and Inspection Readiness. You will drive inspection readiness for external operations, collaborate across functions, and guide risk assessments and CAPA closures to sustain quality excellence.

The role requires a scientific degree and 8+ years of experience, with travel up to 10–20% and a hybrid work arrangement allowing remote or on-site days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, or allied health field or equivalent degree.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure inspection readiness and compliance programs for external operations.
• Drive identification and resolution of issues, gaps and risks through collaboration with operations, assessments, audits and trends.
• Support and oversee inspection execution including responses and closure of CAPAs.
• Collaborate across functions and with external sites to foster partnerships.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence to enhance processes.
• Report inspection readiness status and risks to leadership.
