Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking an Associate Director for the Waisman Center to provide administrative leadership across research, education, clinical and service activities. The role directs business services, financial operations, HR, grants, IT and communications, coordinating with senior leadership to sustain long‑term financial health.

Requires six+ years of progressive experience in finance or administration, strong personnel leadership, and strategic planning capabilities.

Qualifications

Six+ years’ progressively responsible professional experience in finance, administration, or related field.
Experience managing financial, sponsored project portfolio and budgets.
Proven track record leading professional staff and teams.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to present & organize.

Responsibilities

Oversee implementation of all operational and administrative activities.
Develop financial strategy including planning, forecasts, budgets, and cash management.
Oversee facility maintenance, security, safety and emergency planning.
Design and maintain administrative structure to achieve goals and mitigate risk.
Identify process improvements, optimize staffing and systems regularly.
Serve as primary business advisor to divisional leadership and stakeholders.
