Job summary

Altasciences is hiring an Associate Director, LBA to provide scientific and technical leadership in Laboratory Sciences. You will manage staff, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and drive efficiency in ligand binding assays.

You will interact with senior management and contribute to strategic planning and client satisfaction. The role requires a PhD or MSc with extensive bioanalytical experience, supervisory background, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

Ph. D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or Pharmacology with 5+ years of relevant experience.
M.Sc. with 7+ years of relevant experience.
B.Sc. with 10+ years in bioanalysis or CRO/Pharma.
Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
3+ years supervisory experience in a multidisciplinary environment.
MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry manuals.
Ability to write advanced reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Well developed interpersonal skills.
Integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
Self-directed, motivated, and proactive.
Relevant industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage staff scheduling, training, development and performance reviews.
Provide scientific review of driving documents and report issues to senior management.
Contribute to financial success via revenue targets and client satisfaction.
Ensure quality and regulatory requirements are met by staff and address issues.
Drive operational improvements for efficiency and cost control.
Provide scientific support to Bioanalytical scientists and manage timelines.
May serve as Bioanalytical Responsible Scientist/PI as needed.
Set up training for LBA staff and improve workflows.
Review costing assessments and project scheduling with BD and Operations.
Contribute to growth of ligand binding assay services and strategic planning.
Collaborate with management; provide back-up when needed.
Participate in internal/external presentations and conferences.
Adhere to Health and Safety standards and lab protocols.
May act as Test Site/Facility Manager for validation studies.
Other duties as assigned.
