Job summary

The Illinois Department of Early Childhood (IDEC) seeks an Associate Director for Bilingual Education and Care Services (Senior Public Service Administrator). The role provides leadership in planning, coordinating, and overseeing bilingual education and care services across IDEC, with a focus on programs for bilingual children and families.

You will lead policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and service delivery design, supervise staff, and help align programs statewide.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year college degree, preferably in public administration, business, or a closely related field.
• Requires minimum of four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in bilingual education or bilingual policy development.
• Requires ability to speak and write in Spanish at a colloquial level.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and coordination for bilingual education and care services.
• Support the design of services delivery for bilingual children, families, and providers.
• Coordinate strategic stakeholder engagement and alignment.
• Conduct research and policy analysis to inform long-term direction of bilingual education and care service delivery.
• Serve as a full line supervisor.
