Novartis seeks an Associate Director for Search & Eval (Platforms & AI) to identify and prioritize external AI-enabled technologies and datasets for accelerated innovation in Biomedicine R&D. The Associate Dir, Search & Eval (Platforms & AI) is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing external AI-enabled technologies, platforms, datasets, models, and companies that can accelerate innovation across Novartis Biomedical Research and Development. The individual will develop competitive landscapes and strategic insights across key AI use cases, conduct diligence on external opportunities by assessing scientific differentiation, technical capabilities, data quality, and strategic fit, and partner closely with internal stakeholders to shape partnering recommendations.

The individual will develop competitive landscapes and strategic insights across key AI use cases, conduct diligence on external opportunities by assessing scientific differentiation, technical capabilities, data quality, and strategic fit, and partner closely with internal stakeholders to shape partnering recommendations. In addition, they will support governance and leadership decision-making through opportunity assessments and landscape reviews, while also representing Novartis externally across biotech, technology, venture, academic, and industry forums. Additionally, the role will maintain a deep understanding of emerging AI trends, company landscapes, partnership activity, and competitive deal-making to identify differentiated opportunities that advance Novartis R&D priorities. The salary for this position is expected to range between $160,300 and $297,700 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
