Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in English, communications, or a related field
• 1–3 years editing experience
• Strong editing, copyediting, research, and fact-checking skills
• Ability to improve content for clarity, usefulness, readability, and reader experience
• Understand audience needs and user intent with ability to evaluate content effectiveness
• Familiarity with CMS and digital publishing workflows
• Knowledge of SEO and search-driven content principles is a plus
• Familiarity with analytics tools is a plus
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in Almanac topics such as gardening, weather, astronomy, food and lifestyle
• Curiosity about evolving search and AI in information discovery

Responsibilities

• Edit existing articles in our CMS, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with editorial standards
• Review and update evergreen content at scale to keep it current and valuable
• Evaluate content using reader needs and user intent to improve usefulness
• Improve content structure and presentation for quick understanding
• Carry out editorial workflows including editing, formatting, publishing, and maintenance
• Organize content via categorization, metadata, and internal linking
• Participate in large-scale content refreshes and site-wide improvements
• Identify and resolve content inaccuracies, outdated information, and broken links
• Use audience insights and analytics to identify improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with editors and cross-functional teams to support editorial priorities
• Maintain digital assets for content integrity and quality
