Job summary

Chico’s FAS, Inc. in Fort Myers seeks an apparel designer to lead product for assigned categories from concept to finish and to support the design team in executing seasonal direction, line plan, margins, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include creating new silhouettes, preparing development packages and tech packs, managing multiple seasons, and translating design concepts for the customer. Market research and embellishment mockups may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design or related field.
• 3+ years in apparel design, preferably contemporary market.
• Strong sketching and presentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external partners.
• Solid understanding of details, trim, fit and construction.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator; CAD experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports design team in creating product collections at season start; creates new silhouettes.
• Prepares development creative packages under senior designer direction.
• Manages multiple seasons across the development calendar and TA deadlines.
• Creates assortments aligned with brand positioning.
• Prepares design tech packs.
• Translates design concepts for the customer.
• Prepares for seasonal product review meetings.
• Shops market research to stay current with trends; may attend development fit sessions.
• May create artwork for embellishments, plaids, stripes, and mockups.
• Other duties as assigned.
