Job summary

The Estée Lauder Companies seeks a design associate to develop innovative concepts and detailed renderings for global in-store and event designs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to create compelling 3D/2D assets for windows, displays and live events.

You will manage projects end-to-end, maintain brand aesthetics, and contribute design packets for regional execution. A strong background in fashion/beauty retail and fabrication knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

  • BA or BFA in Interior Design, Stage & Set Design, or Architecture required.
  • 5+ years in Agency, Event Design, Store Design, Graphic Design, or Visual Merchandising.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling and rendering with Rhino, SketchUp and other tools.
  • Strong ability to communicate concepts with quick hand sketches and notes.

The role of associate requires incredible creativity and ability to provide detailed renderings of event and instore distortion concepts, as well as technical guidelines. Additionally, the position must uphold the highest standard of event design and execution for all 3D/2D assets to ensure MAC delivers innovative, world-class creative expressions for all events and brand experiences.The associate director will be responsible for Global In-Store and Out of House Events Design (influencer, global events). This individual will partner with the Executive Director to develop innovative and compelling event design and in store distortions in partnership with team collaborators and external department leads that support global and regional campaign experiences. They will contribute conceptual design ideas and create detailed renderings of event elements for in-store/offsite retail events and larger public facing brand expressions. This individual will research latest event trends and develop inventive and captivating ideas. They will provide strategic guidance to local markets throughout the event planning process. They will attend Global cross functional meetings to understand deliverables, timelines and project details. Additionally, be prepared to provide and share project details and updates.DescriptionWork with the ED to develop concepts and research of innovative design, trends, technologies for event campaigns and in store distortions including windows, play table, MU Consultations etc.Ability to manage design projects from conception to executionProficient ability to develop and present multiple design conceptsDevelop working knowledge of brand identity and aesthetics, with an extraordinary attention to detailKnowledgeable in Fixture, Set & Stage Design with an interest fabrication/production processVisualize and render professional level artwork for Window and Event conceptsResponsible in tracking and monitoring all steps of creative process that adhere to project-defined timelinesUnderstands 3D modeling principals and can provide daily support to the Retail Experience teamProduce concept and design renderings for all levels of MAC Retail Environments and Special EventsCollaborate with design team to produce comprehensive design packets for regional executionProduce 2D and 3D artwork based on renderings for both Events and Retail EnvironmentsOccasionally assist on site for NYC area installationsOrganize and maintain library of all relevant design-related creative assetsStrong team spirit with outstanding interpersonal and communication skillsPassion for cosmetic retailing and entrepreneurial work environmentContribute to the Design Manual and fixture libraryQualificationsBA or BFA of Interior Design, Stage and Set Design, or Architecture is required5+ Years of experience in either Agency, Event Design, Store Design, Graphic Design, and Visual Merchandising requiredHighly proficient in 3D modeling programs including: Sketchup, RhinoComprehensive knowledge of 2D technical skills in AutoCADAbility to visually communicate through quick hand sketch in meetings, take detailed notes, and recapProficient in 3D rendering with Rhino, KeyshotProficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, CadToolsAbility to work well in a collaborative team environment and contribute ideasExcellent verbal and visual communication skillsAble to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentSuperior organizational skillsDeadline oriented and ability to self-manageUnderstanding and strong interest in design /fashion /beauty / retail / technology & material innovations / and the aptitude to translate these ideas into realityKnowledgeable of fabrication, printing, and prop materialsModel building/ hand crafting skillsComfortable with light physical labor, building materials and setupProficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Slack, Trello, Google docs. Pay Range:The anticipated base salary range for this position is $87,550.00 to $143,800.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
