This salary range is for a nine-month academic appointment. As Associate Dean for Inclusive Excellence, an administrative stipend will be added for a twelve-month service basis. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.

The Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing (MNSON) seeks a dynamic, visionary leader to serve as the Associate Dean of Inclusive Excellence. This leadership position brings exceptional opportunities to foster a collaborative vision for inclusive excellence in the MNSON that transcends all aspects of the school. This is a 50% administrative and 50% teaching/scholarship/service position with 9-month faculty teaching responsibilities and a 12-month administrative contract.


The Associate Dean of Inclusive Excellence is responsible for the following areas:




  • Mission: Champions a culture of inclusive excellence that aligns with MNSON's mission, vision, and values.


  • Strategy and Oversight: Provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging


  • Communities of Interest: Partners with university offices, community organizations, faculty, administration, staff, students, and alumni to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment. Strengthens the MNSON reputation as a leader in inclusive excellence within the nursing profession and beyond.


  • Initiatives: Collaborates in the development and implementation of policies and programs that drive measurable improvements in the recruitment, retention, and success of a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. Leads evidence-based initiatives that promote inclusive excellence, health equity, social justice, and culturally responsive pedagogy.


  • Collaboration and Mentoring: Develops student, faculty, and staff mentoring programs that ensure equitable opportunities for growth, leadership, and scholarly success.


  • Benchmarking and Accountability: Establishes key performance indicators and leverages internal and external benchmarking data to assess progress, drive continuous improvement, and ensure accountability in achieving inclusive excellence.


  • Funding: Identifies, secures, and manages external funding, including grants and partnerships, to expand and sustain inclusive excellence initiatives.

  • Past activities: Discuss activities contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Examples may include teaching/curriculum, mentoring/advising/tutoring, outreach efforts, committees, task forces, and boards, scholarship and/or research, and other initiatives.

  • Future plans: Describe how you plan to contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the MNSON, including activities you would pursue and how they would fit into your teaching, scholarship, and service.
