Job summary

University of Houston seeks an Associate Dean for Community Health (ADCH) to serve as the principal liaison between the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine and Greater Houston communities.

The ADCH will lead community health strategy, curriculum integration, and governance of Health Commons partnerships to improve local health outcomes. The role includes overseeing clinical teaching in community health, directing service-learning initiatives for students, and guiding community-engaged

Qualifications

• PhD, MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Texas Medical License and board certification for physicians when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Acts as principal liaison between the College of Medicine and Greater Houston communities.
• Provides strategic oversight for Community Health initiatives and Health Commons partnerships.
• Leads curriculum development and delivery related to Community Health with the medical education team.
• Directs service-learning activities and clinical teaching for medical students in community health settings.
• Oversees community-engaged research activities, partnerships, and funder-aligned programs.
