Job summary

Red Ventures’ Home Data Science team seeks an Associate Data Scientist to contribute to ML/AI solutions that drive business outcomes for Home Services clients. The role blends hands-on model work with collaboration across data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders.

You will work on end-to-end ML projects, from data gathering to model deployment, while operating in a hybrid schedule based in Charlotte, NC with remote Mondays and Fridays.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field or Bachelor’s with 1–2 years of professional experience
• Foundational data science techniques: classification, regression, clustering
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; comfortable with ML workflows and experimentation

Job description

The Home Data Science team is looking for an Associate Data Scientist to join our growing applied ML practice. This is a role for someone who wants to move fast, learn from strong technical mentors, and own real work from the start. You’ll contribute to ML and AI solutions that drive measurable business outcomes across our Home Services partners, including work in telecommunications.

You’ll be embedded in a collaborative team that values technical depth, clear thinking, and getting things across the finish line. Expect hands-on work, direct feedback, and genuine investment in your development.

This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our South Charlotte, NC Headquarters (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week.

What You’ll Do:

• Contribute to the development and deployment of ML/AI solutions in production environments, with a focus on building reliable, well-tested code
• Work across the full data lifecycle, from pulling and cleaning data to building models and tracking their downstream impact
• Take solutions built by our platform teams and deliver them customized to individual clients and partners
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand problem context and translate it into well-scoped data science work
• Communicate progress, risks, and results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in code reviews and pair programming sessions that meet team development standards
• Build working knowledge of key business KPIs and how model outputs connect to them
• Take on clearly scoped tickets and small projects independently, escalating blockers early
• Develop proficiency across common ML techniques, model deployment practices, and the tools and platforms the team uses day-to-day

What We’re Looking For:

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or similar) OR Bachelor’s degree 1-2 years professional experience
• Foundational understanding of core data science techniques such as classification, regression, clustering, and when to apply each
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with Generative AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, Gemini, Langchain, Mastra, Open AI or similar tools.
• Familiarity with model deployment and ML operations concepts, including version control, CI/CD, and job orchestration
• Analytical instincts for exploratory data analysis and an ability to assess both technical model performance and its business impact
• A collaborative working style with genuine curiosity about how the business works and what drives value
• Prior internship, research, or project experience applying ML to real-world problems is a strong plus; experience with Databricks or cloud platforms (AWS) is a bonus

Compensation:

Total Cash Compensation Range: $100,000 - $115,000 per year

Actual compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.
