Job summary

Google is seeking an Associate Data Center Facilities Technician, Electrical in Sterling, VA. You will operate, monitor, and support facility activities in Google data centers, ensuring problems are identified and repaired quickly and that safety standards are followed.

This training role emphasizes learning Google systems, with opportunities to work on piping, electrical and mechanical components, while on-call and night/weekend shifts are possible.

Qualifications

• Experience with Electrical Maintenance, Electrical Safety, Electrical Systems, Electrical Infrastructure Systems, Generators, Electrical Schematics.
• Ability to work non-standard hours.
• Ability to participate in material handling tasks up to 50 lbs with OSHA PPE.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to operations, maintenance, and repairs of non-production facilities systems.
• Assist executive technicians (e.g., assess a systems' working order or read blueprints/schematics).
• Follow approved procedures and acquire knowledge of procedural development processes.
• Assist in the resolution of tickets and work orders. Acquire knowledge of work order and ticket workflow.
• Complete all assigned training and be available to work shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Minimum qualifications:

• Experience in Mechanical/Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), or electrical.
• Experience with the following: Electrical Maintenance, Electrical Safety, Electrical Systems, Electrical Infrastructure Systems, Generators, Electrical Schematics.
• Ability to work non-standard hours.
• Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs of equipment, the required use of OSHA standard safety equipment such as limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety harnesses.

Preferred qualifications:

• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or related training program certification in a relevant technical field (e.g., CMCO, SMT, etc.).
• Experience at an apprenticeship or in a technician level role in a critical environment.
• Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on-call.
• Comfortable performing repetitive technical and manual work.

US: $73500 - $100000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
