Job summary

Casey’s is seeking an Associate Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Cybersecurity Engineering team focused on protecting our enterprise environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience with endpoint protection, threat detection, logging, and security monitoring tools while collaborating with technology teams and vendors.

This role is ideal for someone early in their cybersecurity career who wants to grow into a more advanced engineering position within Casey’s, a Fortune 500 organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent years of related work experience.
• At least 1 year of experience building and maintaining technical solutions in a business environment.
• Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity concepts, enterprise technologies, and technical troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of operating systems, networking, endpoint management, cloud technologies, or security platforms.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and assist in resolving technical issues with logical thinking and sound decision making.
• Maintains professional communication with internal and external partners.
• Curiosity and strong desire to learn new technologies and processes; adapts quickly to new tools and systems.
• Willingness to work onsite at Casey's Store Support Center in Ankeny, IA, five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration, monitoring, and optimization of cybersecurity platforms, including endpoint protection, threat detection, logging, and security monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, investigate alerts, and help identify solutions to improve reliability, performance, and security of the environment.
• Contribute to cybersecurity engineering projects, including platform enhancements, integrations, automation initiatives, and modernization efforts.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational guides while supporting knowledge-sharing across the team.
• Collaborate with technology teams, business partners, and vendors while expanding cybersecurity and engineering expertise through training and mentorship.
