Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Cyber Systems Engineer to join our Defense Systems Sector in Roy, Utah. You will help design, deploy, and maintain secure network architectures and cloud security controls across network, cloud, and endpoint environments, collaborating with senior engineers on mission-critical projects.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Cybersecurity, and the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Majored in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Cybersecurity and Information Assurance.
• Ability to obtain U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and deploying secure network architectures.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts; develop automation scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Perform security incident response drills and log analysis with SIEM tools like Splunk.
• Contribute to security hardening guides for cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Perform penetration testing of internal applications under guidance and report findings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
• Attend weekly briefings and mentoring sessions.
