Job summary

Vast in Long Beach is seeking an Associate Creative Director, Brand & Design to shape the creative standard for the company and mentor a small design team.

You will lead brand moments, partner with marketing, product, and engineering, and directly contribute to design work while guiding others. This is a full-time, exempt role requiring 8+ years of experience and a strong portfolio across channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of brand, design, art direction, or related creative discipline.
• Strong portfolio across multiple channels showing craft and innovation.
• Experience leading a small design team with hands-on work.
• Ability to translate business goals into clear creative direction.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Vast’s brand design standards and ensure daily work meets them.
• Manage a design team: provide feedback, run reviews, set direction.
• Contribute personally by sketching, editing, and designing when needed.
• Lead creative work from concept through final execution across campaigns.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, engineering, and leadership to move the needle.
• Mentor designers and raise craft and judgment.
• Present direction to stakeholders and maintain quality under pressure.
• Stay updated on AI impacts on design workflows.
