Job summary

Cone Health seeks an Associate Counsel to provide legal services and support across the organization from its Greensboro, NC campus. The role covers corporate and business transactions, physician contracts, privacy and compliance, medical staff matters, and labor and employment issues.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA‑accredited law school is required.
• Minimum 5 years of health law experience, with some in-house experience.
• Must be admitted to the North Carolina State Bar or eligible for admission.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support on corporate and business transactions.
• Review and draft contracts, leases, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research to support operational goals.
• Respond to requests for legal advice from Cone Health leaders.
• Coordinate work with outside counsel as appropriate.
• Advise on privacy, compliance, patient care, medical staff, and employment issues.

The Associate Counsel is responsible for providing legal services support and deliverables to the organization.

Essential Job Function

• Provides legal support on a variety of matters, including corporate and business transactions, physician contracts, patient care issues, privacy and compliance, medical staff matters, and labor and employment issues.
• Conducts and analyzes legal research in support of operational goals.
• Review and drafts contracts, leases and other legal documents.
• Responds trequest for legal advice from cone leaders and peers.
• Coordinates work with outside counsel as appropriate.

Education

• Required: Completion of a Juris Doctor from an ABA‑accredited law school.

Experience

• Experience: 5 years relevant health law experience, with some of this as in‑house experience.

Licensure/Certification/Listing

• REQUIRED Valid Driver's License | Valid Driver's LicenseAdmitted to the North Carolina State Bar, or be eligible for admission within a reasonable time.
