Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Construction Materials and Testing (CMT) Technician to ensure the quality and safety of construction projects. You will collect material samples from sites, perform tests, and document results for project managers.

Travel to various job sites and work in diverse conditions is required. A company truck, PPE, laptop, and cell phone reimbursement are provided, along with training and mentorship opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction observation, inspection, testing, or related field.
• Valid driver's license with good driving history.
• Associate degree in a technical field preferred but not required.
• ACI Grade 1, ICC Nuclear Gauge, or applicable DOT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently collect construction materials samples from various sites.

Job Description

As a Construction Materials and Testing (CMT) Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects. You will independently collect construction materials samples from various construction sites and perform tests and inspections to assess the properties and integrity of those materials, using specialized equipment and following established procedures and standards. You will document your findings and communicate results to project managers and other stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and maintaining the structural integrity and safety of construction projects.

You will also travel to various job sites and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, education, and internal equity.
