Job summary

Invenergy LLC in Chicago is seeking an Associate, Commercial Contracts to assist the Contracts team with PPA, BT, and DT agreements for renewable energy projects.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates clearly across functions, and can navigate high-stakes negotiations while supporting development of utility-scale wind, solar, and storage projects.

The role follows a hybrid schedule with in-office work Monday through Thursday and remote Fridays when possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to the Contracts team in the preparation of PPA, BT, and DT agreements.
• Coordinate with Development, Finance, Engineering, Legal, and other functional departments in order to prepare exhibits and other documentation related to the commercial transaction.
• Create and maintain data rooms used to exchange transaction documents with third parties.
• Assist commercial team with gathering and sharing due diligence requested by transaction counterparties.
• Provide support for Invenergy’s RFP responses related to PPA, BT, and DT transactions.

Position Overview

As an Associate, Commercial Contracts youmust show strong potential down the line to lead complex and often contentious negotiations. You will be responsible for supporting the Invenergy Contracts team’s Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Build Transfer (BT) and Development Transfer (DT) negotiation efforts for renewable energy projects to third parties.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, communicate clearly across multiple functions, and demonstrate confidence navigating conflict, along with a solid understanding of what it takes to develop and construct utility-scale renewable energy projects.

• Knowledge of wind, solar, and energy storage power systems.
• Experience with complex commercial agreements.
• Prior work in related field
• Must work well in a high performing team setting.
• Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to engage and contribute in a fast-paced high-pressure environment and adapt fluidly to changing priorities.

Base Pay

$88,000.00 - $110,000.00 USD Annual

Bonus: 20% - 30%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
