Job summary

First Orion is seeking a Cloud & DevOps Engineer to own reliability, scalability, and delivery infrastructure from dev machines to production. You’ll provision AWS resources with Terraform and manage EKS, networking, and data stores, while guiding cluster lifecycles and security practices.

The role emphasizes Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Traefik, and observability with OpenTelemetry and New Relic. Strong collaboration with developers to enforce platform standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure using Terraform on AWS.
• Proficiency with AWS services (EKS, IAM, networking, data stores).
• Kubernetes expertise including Helm-based deployments, autoscaling, ingress, and secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage all AWS resources via Terraform (EKS, VPC, DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis, S3, IAM, KMS, CloudFront).
• Manage EKS cluster lifecycle (upgrades, node management, Karpenter tuning).
• Implement networking configurations: VPCs, subnets, transit gateways, security groups, VPC endpoints.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes/GitOps workflow (ArgoCD, Helm charts, Traefik, externaldns, cert-manager).
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines), deployment gates, and OIDC-based authentication to AWS.
• Container optimization and security best practices (Docker multi-stage builds, caching).
• Enhance observability with OpenTelemetry and New Relic integrations; define instrumentation standards.
