Job summary

Elwyn Georgetown, DE is seeking an Associate Clinician to provide daily care and counseling for program residents, from young adults to geriatric clients with chronic mental illness and co-occurring disorders, to help them live independently in the community.

This role emphasizes recovery-based intervention, development and modification of treatment plans, advocacy, crisis management, and thorough documentation, with on-going training and opportunities for growth within a mission-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience with chronic mental and behavioral health issues in a residential setting.
• Valid driver's license with at least two years driving experience in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Understand signs and intervene in a recovery-based environment.
• Develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments.
• Maintain client records in accordance with policy and regulations.
• Provide psycho-educational services to clients and families, as required.
• Meet productivity standards in fee-for-service programs.
• Integrate Prism Model for effective treatment of serious mental illness into practice.
• Regularly read emails to stay informed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities

Elwyn Adult Behavioral Health Services seeks anAssociate Clinicianto be responsible for general daily care of program residents providing counseling and advocacy in a therapeutic setting and working with young adult through geriatric individuals with chronic mental illness and co‑occurring disorders to achieve social, economic, emotional, and personal independence to live in the community.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Understand the signs and symptoms of mental illnesses and intervene therapeutically in a recovery-based environment.


• Knowledgeable of DSM classifications and conditions.


• Empower clients through advocacy and skill building.


• Exercise good judgment and decision making, particularly during crisis situations.


• Demonstrate knowledge of prescribed medications, an ability to monitor medications, and follow Elwyn Adult Behavioral Health Services state‑specific medication guidelines.


• Demonstrate competency in the development, implementation, and modification of treatment plans, based on a comprehensive client assessment.


• Maintain client records in accordance with policy and procedures.


• Produce timely, accurate and thorough recordkeeping in accordance with agency, state or federal regulations.


• Ensure that clients live in a safe and clean environment.


• Provide psycho-educational services to clients and their families, as required.


• Meet productivity standard in fee‑for‑service programs.


• Integrate the Prism Model for effective treatment of serious and persistent mental illness, into everyday practice and clinical intervention.


• Regularly read emails to stay abreast of pertinent work information.


• Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, rehabilitative counseling, social work, clinical psychology, or closely related discipline.


• 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with chronic mental and behavioral health issues in a residential setting.


• Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record.
