  • Proven track record of developing research and outreach collaterals.
  • Ability to thrive in uncertainty and develop testable hypotheses.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with digital analytical and visualization tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed, multi‑cultural team across geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized inputs for informing WJCF’s climate strategy and identify new climate‑health interventions.
  • Collaborate with WJCF teams and external partners to design and implement initiatives and forge alliances.
  • Conduct primary research, literature reviews and monitor developments in climate health policy and regulation.
  • Support development of concept notes, program proposals and donor outreach collateral.
  • Develop frameworks to monitor and evaluate the impact of climate and health projects.
  • Build networks with key entities in the climate and health ecosystem in India.
  • Contribute to thought pieces and research collateral for WJCF.
  • Assist with internal and external facing reports and collateral.
  • Represent WJCF at appropriate fora such as symposiums and workshops.

Company Overview

The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization founded in 2002 to reduce the cost of life‑saving drugs and expand access in low‑ and middle‑income countries. Being invited by governments, CHAI partners with the private sector to strengthen high‑quality health systems. Over the past two decades the organization has broadened its focus beyond HIV to include COVID‑19, malaria, tuberculosis, hepatitis, non‑communicable diseases, vaccines, maternal and child health, chronic malnutrition and assistive technology, while investing in human resources, digital health and health financing.

Program Overview

WJCF, CHAI’s India affiliate, works on key health initiatives under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. In response to climate change, WJCF is launching a strategic initiative to improve access to affordable, energy‑efficient cooling. The program seeks to mitigate health risks from extreme heat, reduce greenhouse‑gas emissions, and strengthen climate resilience of health systems.

Role Overview

Associate – Climate & Health reports to the Lead – Climate & Cooling. The Associate will define strategy and implementation for WJCF’s Climate×Health initiatives, collaborating with internal and external partners and representing WJCF at relevant fora. A high level of entrepreneurialism, analytical thinking, and resilience is required to manage uncertainty and deliver quality outputs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized inputs for informing WJCF’s climate strategy and identify new climate‑health interventions.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other WJCF teams and external partners to design and implement initiatives and forge alliances.
  • Conduct primary research, literature reviews and monitor developments in technology, policy, regulation, trade and commerce related to climate change and health.
  • Support development of concept notes, program proposals and donor outreach collateral.
  • Develop frameworks to monitor and evaluate the impact of climate and health projects.
  • Build and leverage networks with key entities in the climate and health ecosystem in India.
  • Contribute to thought pieces and research collaterals for WJCF.
  • Support the crafting of internal and external facing reports and collateral.
  • Represent WJCF at appropriate fora such as symposiums and workshops.
  • Assist with existing climate and health projects, including Clean Cooling.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by program leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social sciences, environment, engineering, policy, economics/finance.
  • 3‑4 years of analytical experience, such as consulting or research, focused on climate and/or public health topics.
  • Track record of developing research and outreach collaterals for consulting firms, research entities or think tanks.
  • Ability to thrive in uncertainty and develop testable hypotheses.
  • Proven ability to deliver high‑quality outputs under time‑sensitive and complex requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with digital analytical and visualization tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed, multi‑cultural team across geographies.
