Job summary

Pennoni in Princeton, NJ is seeking an Associate Engineer to contribute to multi-discipline design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our Princeton office. You will work on private and public site development projects across markets, with responsibilities spanning site design, permitting, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Civil Engineering background and 2+ years of experience, with EIT in NJ preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
• 2+ years of professional experience in Engineering, preferably with land development projects.
• Knowledge of stormwater management design calculations and software; experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Perform site design work including site layout, grading, utilities-oriented tasks, and public street design.
• Perform site evaluations for land development feasibility.
• Assist with SWM design, ESC, retention/detention review, and BMPs as needed.
• Review local municipal ordinances and county/state regulations.
• Assist in preparation of plans for permitting and construction.

Job description

• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

We are hiring for an experienced professional to join our team as a Associate Engineer and contribute to our multi-discipline design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Princeton, NJ. This person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of private and public site development projects across various markets!

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform site design work; this includes site layout, grading, utilities-oriented tasks (e.g.: water & sanitary sewer systems), and public street design.
• Perform site evaluations for land development feasibility.
• Assist with stormwater management [SWM]: design stormwater piping systems, assist with Erosion & Sediment Control [ESC], review retention / detention, and implement Best Management Practices [BMP's], when necessary.
• Review of local municipal ordinances as well as county & state regulations.
• Assist the design team in preparation of plans for permitting and construction.
• Assist with the preparation of permit applications.
• Assist with the preparation of engineering reports; this involves presenting technical information to demonstrate compliance with client requirements and/or regulatory requirements.
• Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
• 2+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with land development projects.
• Knowledge to stormwater management design calculations and software Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D

Preferred Qualifications

• E.I.T in NJ is preferred.
• Experience working on land development and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, project management software, etc.); exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bluebeam is a plus!
• Experience with stormwater management (SWM) design calculations, especially while utilizing H&H modeling tools.
• Proficiency on standard office software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
• Proven ability to look at the “Big Picture” as well the project goals in order to coordinate various design disciplines accordingly.
• Proven track record of demonstrating punctuality with consistent attendance.
• Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a collaborative Team Player, especially while maintaining the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

TARGET SALARY RANGE: $75K - $90k (per year)
