Job summary

Pennoni is seeking an Associate Engineer to join our Princeton, NJ office. The role focuses on site design, grading, utilities, and street design for private and public site development projects.

You will support stormwater management and permitting, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver compliant plans. Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering background, 2+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
• 2+ years of professional experience in Engineering, land development preferred.
• Knowledge of stormwater design calculations and software; experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Job description

We are hiring for an experienced professional to join our team as a Associate Engineer and contribute to our multi-discipline design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Princeton , NJ . This person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of private and public site development projects across various markets!

Primary Responsibilities

Perform site design work; this includes site layout, grading, utilities-oriented tasks (e.g.: water & sanitary sewer systems), and public street design. Perform site evaluations for land development feasibility. Assist with stormwater management [SWM]: design stormwater piping systems, assist with Erosion & Sediment Control [ESC], review retention / detention, and implement Best Management Practices [BMP's], when necessary. Review of local municipal ordinances as well as county & state regulations. Assist the design team in preparation of plans for permitting and construction. Assist with the preparation of permit applications. Assist with the preparation of engineering reports; this involves presenting technical information to demonstrate compliance with client requirements and/or regulatory requirements. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
• 2+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with land development projects.
• Knowledge to stormwater management design calculations and softwareExperience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Please note that we are willing to consider a higher-level position for a candidate that qualifies with additional experience accordingly.

Preferred Qualifications

• E.I.T in NJ is preferred.
• Experience working on land development and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, project management software, etc.); exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bluebeam is a plus!
• Experience with stormwater management (SWM) design calculations, especially while utilizing H&H modeling tools.
• Proficiency on standard office software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
• Proven ability to look at the "Big Picture" as well the project goals in order to coordinate various design disciplines accordingly.
• Proven track record of demonstrating punctuality with consistent attendance.
• Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a collaborative Team Player , especially while maintaining the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

TARGET SALARY RANGE

$75K - $90k (per year)
