Job summary

Howden Re is seeking an Associate Catastrophe Risk Technical Specialist in Edina, MN to lead Python-based app development and elevate analytics for our clients. You will collaborate with the Analytics team to deploy models and AI-driven solutions, including LLMs, while communicating complex concepts clearly across stakeholders.

The role requires a strong math/CS/econ background, experience with Python, SQL, React.js, and FastAPI, and the ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance or similar analytical major.
• Proven experience in Python application development, with a focus on efficiency and innovation.
• Solid understanding of AI/ML methodologies and ability to develop, train, validate and deploy models, including LLM’s.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience manipulating, cleaning, and analyzing data.
• Able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
• Effective communicator, both verbal and written.
• Able to collaborate effectively across disciplines.

As an associate catastrophe risk technical specialist, you will work together with the Analytics team to elevate our analytical offerings through Python application development.

• Please note: this is a full time opportunity based in Edina, Minnesota.

The expected base salary for this role is $72,000 The base salary range and ultimate title is based on level of relevant experience and location and does not include other types of compensation such as discretionary bonus or benefits
