Pritchard Consulting Group is seeking an Associate CAD Technician for our Geostructural division in Sonora, CA. This role targets a Civil 3D professional with 3+ years of experience who will run sheet sets, perform basic design calculations, and lead CAD for local infrastructure lifecycles.

Responsibilities include managing drawing packages in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, serving as CAD Lead Technician, and enforcing file management standards. Strong communication with engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional civil drafting experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• High School diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in CAD/Drafting preferred.
• Strong experience with Autodesk Civil 3D workflows (surfaces, feature lines, corridors).
• Experience drafting gravity and pressure utility networks.
• Clear written and verbal technical communication with engineering teams.

• Prepare, modify, and manage high-quality construction drawing packages within AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Perform foundational engineering calculations under limited supervision (slopes, grades, earthworks).
• Serve as CAD Lead Technician for plan production phases and manage drawing schedules.
• Own complete drawing sheet sets and enforce file management protocols and naming conventions.
• Participate in CAD administration and contribute to drafting standards improvements.

Summary

Pritchard Consulting Group is hiring an Associate CAD Technician for our Geostructural division in Sonora, CA. This position is tailored for a Civil 3D professional with 3+ years of experience who is ready to run their own sheet sets, perform foundational design calculations, and serve as the CAD lead for localized infrastructure project lifecycles.

Type of Projects:

• Private residential tunnels and unique underground spaces
• Water conveyance structures (including water-district tunnels, canals, and irrigation networks)
• Earth-retention and ground-support structures

Responsibilities

• Prepare, modify, and manage complete, high-quality construction drawing packages within AutoCAD and Civil 3D from sketches, notes, and verbal direction.
• Perform foundational engineering calculations under limited supervision, including pipeline slopes, street grades, area grades, and earthworks.
• Serve as the designated CAD Lead Technician for plan production phases, managing drawing schedules and providing progress reports to Project Managers.
• Take ownership of complete drawing sheet sets and strictly enforce company file management protocols and naming conventions.
• Participate in CAD administration tasks and contribute to the ongoing improvement of corporate drafting standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional civil drafting experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• High School diploma or equivalent; a technical certification or Associate Degree in CAD/Drafting is highly preferred.
• Strong, hands-on professional experience with Autodesk Civil 3D workflows (surfaces, feature lines, and corridors).
• Practical experience drafting gravity and pressure utility networks.
• Clear written and verbal technical communication skills to coordinate efficiently with engineering teams.
