Job summary

Lids Sports Group, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Buying and Merchandising professional to drive profitability in a fast-paced retail environment. You will analyze sales, inventory, and trends, write purchase orders, and collaborate with senior buyers to optimize product distribution.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion/Apparel Merchandising and at least two years in retail buying or management, with strong Excel and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion/Apparel Merchandising or related field.
• Minimum of two years of retail buying or retail management experience.
• High proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Internet applications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, interpersonal, and math skills.
• Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide data and analysis for Buyers; responsible for sales recaps to maximize reporting effectiveness.
• Management responsibilities include administering and evaluating performance plans and guiding merchandisers.
• Analyze reports related to sales, orders, inventory, and trends to optimize buying and allocation decisions.
• Collaborate with buyers to manage product performance and achieve financial goals.
• Write purchase orders.
• Review replenishment by store and adjust to maximize opportunities and minimize liabilities.
• Develop working relationships with colleagues and vendors.
• Identify competition and marketplace trends to exceed financial goals.
