Job summary

Automotive Manufacturing Company is seeking aPurchasing Associate to join the Plano, TX team. The role supports the PSD Buying Department with administrative tasks, supplier follow-up and system processing to improve cost, quality and manufacturability.

The position requires experience in automotive purchasing and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, plus familiarity with SAP Ariba and Power BI for data reporting. On-site at the Plano headquarters with occasional events participation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher or 2+ years in a professional business environment.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Automotive Buying/Purchasing/Procurement.
• Excel skills: macros, pivot tables and VLOOKUP; tested 80%+.
• PowerPoint proficiency; tested 80%+.
• Power BI experience with data links, slicers, report filters; basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Execute OPs including supplier setup, price variance management, and payment requisitions.
• Process and manage SAP Ariba PR/PO data.
• Prepare weekly reports and supplier follow-ups.
• Update business processes OPs to improve divisional efficiency.
• Manage document distribution, organization, and retention.
• Resolve supplier issues related to system communication, payments, etc.
• Support events such as North American Supplier Meeting.
• Handle general admin duties (travel, catering, expense reports, scheduling).

Job description

• Automotive Manufacturing Company's Purchasing Supplier Development (PSD) Buying Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Purchasing Associate.
• The person in this role will support Purchasing Supplier Development Buying groups with administrative tasks, supplier follow-up and system processing.The person in this role will support to develop our outsourced supply base to ensure overall best cost, quality, manufacturability, and operational self-reliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute buying Operating Procedures (OPs) including supplier set up, price variance management, and payment requisitions.
• Process and manage SAP/Ariba PR/PO data
• Weekly report management
• Supplier follow-up to confirm data, request information, and late requests status
• Document & update business process OPs to improve divisional efficiency
• Manage document distribution, organization, and retention
• Resolve day-to-day supplier issu es related to system communication failures, payment issues, late assignments, etc.
• Support company events such as North American Supplier Meeting, etc.
• Overall administrative duties (travel, catering, expense reports, meeting scheduling)

Requirements:

• This position will be working at the Plano Texas Headquarter site

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher or 2+ years equivalent experience in a professional business environment
• Minimum 1 year experience working in a direct or support role in Automotive Buying/Purchasing/Procurement
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel including ability to complete macros, pivot tables and VLOOKUP (candidates must be tested and score 80% or better)
• Proficiency with PowerPoint (intermediate or above...candidates must be tested and score 80% or better)
• Working experience with Microsoft Power BI (including data links, slicer manipulation, report filters and basic troubleshooting)

• Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI (including data importation, report creation and intermediate troubleshooting)
• Minimum 1year experience with Microsoft Visio or Lucid, including flow chart creation and modification
