Job summary

Chartwell Law in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced attorney for a full-time litigation role. You will review files, conduct legal research, and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs; you will also represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions.

You will handle discovery, retain expert witnesses, prepare for trials, and collaborate closely with partners and clients to provide strategic, practical legal advice.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and active license to practice in state.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a practice group.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience with administrative proceedings, depositions, and mediations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Primary Job Duties:

• File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
• Extensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Regularly representing clients in court, at arbitrations and in depositions
• Drafting and responding to discovery requests
• Expert witness retention and collaboration
• Trial preparation and attendance
• Collaborate closely with partners, clients, and stakeholders to deliver strategic and practical legal advice
• Manage deadlines and assignments with a high level of ownership and independence
