Job summary

Confidential Employer in Inverness, IL seeks an associate to handle property tax appeals within a boutique practice. You will analyze varied property types, draft briefs, manage filings, and communicate directly with clients.

Licensure: Active Illinois bar. Candidates with property tax, real estate or administrative law experience are preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. On-site role with opportunities for bonus, 401(k) matching, and profit sharing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze residential, income-producing, owner-occupied, commercial and industrial properties to identify opportunities for assessment appeals.
• Draft briefs, supporting evidence, complaints and other materials for property tax appeals.
• Manage administrative appeal matters with filings, evidence and deadlines organized.
• Communicate with clients to provide recommendations, gather information, answer questions, and explain the appeal process.
• Assist with appeal filings and preparation of supporting documentation at multiple administrative levels.
• Evaluate property information including new construction, renovations, income-producing assets and valuation considerations.
• Handle confidential client information with sound judgment and professionalism.
• Shift priorities effectively in a client-focused environment where matters and deadlines change.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Note:

Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Illinois. Experience in property tax, real estate, or administrative law is preferred but not required, and bilingual English/Spanish ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois bar license
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential information
• Highly motivated, organized, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative
• Property tax, real estate, administrative law, or related legal experience preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Microsoft Access experience is a plus
