Job summary

Safeguard Law Group, PLLC., a consumer protection law firm, is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its Louisiana practice remotely. The ideal candidate has experience drafting pleadings and memoranda, strong organizational skills, and is prepared for a heavy workload across transactional and civil litigation matters.

Communication with the main office in New York will be via telephone and email. Candidates must be located in Louisiana or within commutable distance to be considered.

Qualifications

• Must be admitted to practice law in Louisiana.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
• Superior organizational & time-management skills to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and supervising a heavy and diversified caseload of the Firm’s clients in Louisiana.
• Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing and drafting agreements, etc.
• Communicating with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims.
• Legal research related to contract law and other areas of consumer law.
• While this role is based from home, travel for in-court appearances may be required.

Associate Attorney

We are looking for a full-time Associate Attorney to join our firm's practice in Louisiana. The ideal candidate is one who has experience drafting legal documents such as pleadings and legal memoranda, has strong organizational skills, and is willing to take on a heavy workload. This position imparts broad responsibilities and exposes you to a range of legal issues related to consumer protection, including transactional and civil litigation matters. Because our firm’s headquarters are in New York, this position entails communicating with our main office exclusively via telephone and electronic means (e‑mail, Microsoft Teams, etc.).

Candidates should be within commutable distance or currently located in Louisiana to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Strong legal research skills -- proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
