Job summary

Cassiday Schade LLP in Chicago seeks an associate attorney with up to three years of experience across areas of law. The candidate must be licensed to practice in Illinois and enjoy collaborating with a team of 100+ attorneys who value integrity, professionalism, and clear communication.

You will draft pleadings, motions, and discovery, conduct legal research, take depositions, and assist with mediations and court appearances while managing a substantive caseload.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Proficient with Lexis and MS Office.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills during hearings.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, orders, discovery and legal memoranda.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery, conduct legal research, and take and defend depositions.
• Review client documents, draft case evaluations and prepare status report correspondence.
• Assist with and participate in mediations, pretrial settlement conferences and court appearances.
• Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues and staff; manage a substantive case load.
• Perform a variety of difficult and complex legal work with discretion and minimal supervision.
