Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized litigation firm, seeks an Associate Attorney to join our Toxic Tort (asbestos) defense team in Chicago. This role offers hands‑on case management from day one and mentorship from seasoned trial lawyers in a collaborative environment.

You will advance through discovery to trial, gaining exposure to depositions, motions, and strategy discussions while contributing to high‑profile litigation and professional development.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Illinois (Active and in good standing).
• Admission in MO or IN is a plus.
• 1–5 years of civil defense litigation experience.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Taking and defending depositions.
• Conducting legal research and case analysis.
• Strong writing and advocacy skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Team player with interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Experience with mediations/arbitrations is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a robust caseload with a focus on toxic tort (asbestos) defense.
• Handle cases from inception through resolution or trial in collaboration with partners.
• Participate in depositions, court appearances, and more.

What We’re Looking For:

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary:$95,000 – $140,000 (commensurate with experience)
