Position Overview

The ideal candidate will manage a varied caseload independently and in collaboration with the firm owner, meet directly with clients, draft legal documents, and represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Counsel clients with clarity, patience, and empathy across Family Law, Consumer Bankruptcy (Chapter 7/13), Estate Planning, and Probate.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, estate plans, and bankruptcy filings.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and client conferences across east-central Nebraska.
  • Manage client relationships directly, translating complex legal concepts into clear action plans.
  • Collaborate with the firm owner while developing the autonomy to manage cases independently.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Nebraska (or pending bar admission), or eligible for admission.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-first mindset.
  • High emotional intelligence and an ability to remain calm and supportive during high-stress client situations.
  • Comfort working in a rural, small-town legal environment where personal connections matter.
  • Salary Range: $85,000.00 – $105,000.00 / year (commensurate with experience).
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Paid personal/vacation time.
  • Paid Holidays: Closed on major recognized holidays.
