The Law Offices of Benjamin T. McLawhorn in Raleigh, North Carolina is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join our in-office team. You will handle substantive litigation work from day one and collaborate closely with senior attorneys and clients.

We value a JD from an accredited school, NC bar admission, strong drafting and discovery skills, and the ability to manage a fast-moving caseload in a supportive, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina.
• Prior legal experience is preferred but not required.
• Newly licensed attorneys with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
• Confidence with basic legal tasks including drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, e-filing, and professional client communication.
• A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is capable of managing a fast-moving caseload.

Responsibilities

• Draft, file, and argue legal pleadings.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as necessary.
• Manage assigned case files and maintain consistent communication with clients.
• Conduct legal research, prepare discovery requests, and delegate tasks to support staff.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation.
• Track time accurately and communicate regularly with supervising attorneys.

We are currently seeking a full-time Associate Attorney who is motivated, team-oriented, and ready to take on substantive work from the beginning. This is an in-office position, ideal for someone who is looking to grow quickly in their legal career and gain valuable hands-on litigation and client experience.

What We Offer

• Competitive salary ($60,000.00 - $65,000.00) thousand dollars annually, depending on experience.
