Associate/Assistant Professor – Aerospace Engineering (AY 27/28)

Work type: Instructional Faculty – Tenured/Tenure‑Track

Location: Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo Campus

Salary Range: Assistant Professor: $110,000–$123,000 per year; Associate Professor: $120,000–$134,000 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and master’s level courses in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Develop and support curricular innovation and course materials.
  • Establish and lead an externally funded, applied research program that involves undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Provide service to the department, university, and community.
Qualifications
  • Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Aerospace Engineering or a closely‑related field from an accredited institution.
  • Strong background in aircraft flight dynamics, flight mechanics, guidance, navigation & control, autonomy, or related areas.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to secure external funding and manage research projects.
  • Proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated university‑level teaching excellence.
  • Experience with laboratory‑based instruction or industry experience.
