Job summary

Riot Games in Los Angeles is seeking an Associate Art Director to lead the Cosmetics pillar for League of Legends. You will partner with the Senior Art Director to define themes, drive high‑quality cosmetic content, and scale production across distributed studios.

You will mentor craft leads, align across departments, and influence marketing and live‑ops initiatives. You will balance artistic ambition with production realities, maintaining quality and coherence while guiding a diverse team

Qualifications

• 8+ years in game art with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Proven track record as artistic leader for content pipelines in games.
• Experience coordinating multiple disciplines to meet goals.
• Experience partnering with production to plan roadmaps without sacrificing quality.
• Strong ability to communicate artistic vision through pitches and artifacts.
• Experience developing and scaling cosmetics or live-service content pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute the artistic vision for the Cosmetics pillar, serving as the primary artistic decision‑maker.
• Develop and scale cosmetics for live-service content pipelines.
• Define resonant thematics for cosmetic content with high-quality execution from concept to release.
• Provide guidance and leadership across multiple art craft teams, mentoring talent and building leadership bench.
• Coordinate with co‑development studios to ensure cohesive output across distributed environments.
• Lead weekly rituals, reviews, and gatherings for the art department to maintain focus and rhythm.
• Establish review gates, style guides, and toolkits to ensure consistent quality.
• Create and maintain artifacts that inform and align disciplines in creative spaces.
• Collaborate with marketing to deliver a unified experience between content and marketing.
• Foster a culture of high standards, psychological safety, and strong creative ownership.
