Job summary

California Hydronics Corp in Hayward, CA, seeks an Associate Collections Specialist to join our accounting team. You will manage past-due collections, post payments, and support lien releases, reporting to the Credit & Collections Manager.

The Opportunity

As an Associate Collections Specialist, you will play a key role in CHC's accounting and cash flow operations. Reporting to the Credit & Collections Manager, you’ll handle high-impact tasks like cash posting, lien releases, account reconciliations, and proactive customer outreach.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day
  • Collection & Account Monitoring: Assist with past-due collections, monitor assigned account ages, and make high-volume customer calls and emails.
  • Cash Posting & Lien Releases: Issue lien releases, resolve discrepancies, and accurately post daily payments while investigating short payments or missed invoices.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner directly with Sales, Inside Sales, and external clients to resolve account inquiries and billing issues.
  • Portals & Financial Support: Manage billing through customer portals, handle account reconciliations, post journal entries, and support annual financial audits.
What We're Looking For

Requirements (Must-Haves)

Education:

High school diploma.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of credit & collections OR general accounting experience.

Minimum 3 years of fast-paced customer service experience.

Technical Skills:

Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Salesforce / FinancialForce (or similar apps).

Core Skills:

High attention to detail

Strong follow-through

Exceptional written/verbal communication

Proven ability to analyze/interpret financial data and take decisive action.

Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points!)

Associate’s Degree in Accounting.
