Job summary

IBM invites university hires to join its Associate Program for aspiring consultants. You will help clients adopt future-facing technologies, from cloud to AI, while collaborating with a global cohort and gaining access to certifications and structured learning.

As an Associate Application Consultant, you’ll participate in the selection, implementation, and support of applications, working across Cloud, Enterprise Applications, and data integrations to deliver client value.

Your Role And Responsibilities

As an Associate Application Consultant atIBM,you will help us usher clients into a new age of future-looking technology.You'llbeassistingclients in theselection, implementation, and support of applications,methodology, and tools.You'llbetrained upto perform as an expert on existing and/or new applications specialized around things like Cloud,Blockchain,DevOp, Enterprise Applications, and Mobile. You will help our clients integrate enterprise-wide data for improved performance and efficiency. Leveraging a growth mindset,you'reready and willing to deliver business value, wherever needed.

Your ability to accelerate impact and make meaningfulchangefor your clients is enabled by our strategic partner ecosystem and our robust technology platforms across the IBM portfolio, including IBM’s Software and Red Hat.

In Your Role You Maybe Responsible For

• Market Dynamics: Immersing yourself in primary research and collaborate with dynamic teams assisting clients in navigating market trends and refining competitive strategies.
• Operational Excellence: Support operational improvement by designing models for a seamless client experience, contributing to heightened efficiency and effectiveness in operational processes.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Support workshops, meetings, and interviews to understand and document requirements collaborating with diverse teams to capture and synthesizing essential information.
• Project Exposure: Gain hands on experience shadowing product teams and enterprise-wide data integrations. Contribute to data analytics assessments and actively participate in cloud migration and system implementations across major platforms.

• Interest in one or more of the following types of consulting: strategy, application, business transformation, or experience.
• Exposure to Cloud native projects (academic, personal, or internship count); Agile ways of working (ambiguousrequirements, evolving scope); Programming (read, debug, and explain code)
• Skills/Tech: Programmingfundamentals(Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.); SQL Basics; networking basics, Terraform/CloudFormation, Linux fundamentals.
• Willingness to travel as needed

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Preferred major’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, MIS/IT, Computer Engineering, Data Science, SW Engineering, or related fields).
• Preferred Certifications: AWS Foundational (Cloud orAIPractitioner); Associate, Professional, or Specialty (Aspirational) —in-progress certifications are fine.
• Other: operational & consulting mindset (translate technical work to business impact); Communication (ability to clearly communicate technical concepts - verbal and written); Professional readiness (comfort in client-facing environments); Passionate about use of AI technology for business advancement; and enjoys experiential learning.
