Job summary

Dow in Hahnville, LA, is seeking an Associate Analytical Technician to provide analytical data for product release and process optimization in the MPQ lab. You will support routine and non-routine analyses, document results with OpenLab, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include performing analyses using GC, titrations, and spectrometry; calibrating and maintaining analytical systems; and adhering to EH&S, ODMS, and AWP procedures.

About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Analytical Technician in Hahnville, LA. The Analytical Technician provides the analytical data to produce and release products and enable process and product optimization. This role supports a plant MPQ (Manage Product Quality) lab.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and non-routine analyses on analytical equipment such as Gas Chromatography (GC), titrations, and spectrometry. Document, communicate, and archive results using appropriate IT software and electronic tools (such as Chromatography Data Systems (OpenLab). Understand and execute procedures, policies, and work processes such as Environmental Health &Safety, Operating Discipline Management Systems (ODMS), quality procedures, and AWP (Analytical Work Process). Perform basic calibration and maintenance of analytical systems. Monitor analytical systems.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of an associate's degree in a science discipline or related (at least 20 hours in chemistry) is required. 3+ years of relevant military experience also accepted. Proficient in Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Able to work in an empowered team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to work a 12 hour rotation shift. This is a 12 hour rotating shift position that will require some additional overtime to cover plant needs and lab team vacations/absences. Able to work weekends and holidays. No routine travel.

Required Certification

Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card. A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. Physical Requirements

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations Lift, push, and pull. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting. Stand 50% of the time. Walk for extended periods of time. Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator. Work in an area with hazardous materials.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in science related discipline is preferred. Experience with electronic tools (such as Chromatographic Data System (OpenLab). Experience with Analytical Disciplines such as Chromatography, Spectroscopy, titrations, and physical property testing.

Teamwork & Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an empowered team environment, including on rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
