  • Interest payments on all positions and valuation monitoring.
  • Weekly and monthly internal collateral reporting.
  • Regulatory reporting compliance (incl. Dodd‑Frank).
  • ISDA and FCM legal document management.
  • Assist senior analysts and analysts.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Position Overview

Under supervision, serves as the associate analyst for the Derivative Settlement Group. This entails daily routine processing tasks including validation of new trades, settlement of collateral, and settlement of derivative payments. The associate is expected to be an independent thinker who manages their own projects and assists other teammates in their projects.

Responsibilities
  • Process routine day‑to‑day duties associated with the group’s task list.
  • Daily collateral management including trade valuation, interaction with external trade counterparties, and settlement activities.
  • Trade capture of all derivative activity.
  • Derivative reporting.
  • Confirmation management.
  • Reconciliations with dealers and accounting system.
  • Interest payment processing on all external and internal positions.
  • Monitoring reasonableness of derivative valuation.
  • Weekly and monthly internal collateral reporting.
  • Regulatory reporting (incl. Dodd‑Frank) compliance management.
  • ISDA and FCM legal document management.
  • Assist senior analysts and analysts.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Math, Science, or equivalent working experience.
    • 1–2 years related work experience in securities operations processes, including 1+ year of global derivative processing, or
    • Internship at a Financial Services Firm dealing with derivative activities, or
    • RGA internship.
  • Preferred:
    • 3+ years related work experience in securities operations processes.
    • Reinsurance or insurance industry knowledge, or Banking or Brokerage industry knowledge.
  • Required:
    • Clear interest in deepening knowledge of derivative instruments.
    • Demonstrated ability to deal with complex issues and solve problems both within teams and independently.
    • Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
    • Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability.
    • Ability to set goals, multitask and prioritize workload.
    • Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in departmental projects.
    • Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives.
    • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Basic knowledge of derivative processing.
    • Basic knowledge of ISDA documentation.
    • Word and Excel abilities.
    • Programming skills in SQL and/or Python or equivalent language.
  • Beneficial:
    • Understanding of relational databases.
    • Base knowledge of derivative pricing (discounted cash flows).
    • System knowledge of derivative trade capture system.

Compensation

General pay range: $65,000 – $75,000 base per year. Base pay varies depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles. Some positions are eligible for participation in our long‑term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement and other employee benefits.
