Job summary

Fidelity invites applications for a data analytics internship in Colorado focused on pension plan operations. You will analyze and validate large datasets using Excel and SQL, while building expertise in Defined Benefit administration and client service excellence.

You will support projects, drive process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver practical solutions, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and continuous learning in financial services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; majors in Data Analytics, Data Science, MIS, Business Analytics or Business Administration preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Experience with SQL, Access, Tableau, Power BI, Python or similar tools preferred.
  • Internship, academic project or coursework involving data analysis, reporting or process improvement.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Interest in financial services, retirement benefits, operations or consulting.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn technical and business concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and validate large datasets using Excel, SQL and other reporting platforms.
  • Learn pension plan operations and develop subject matter expertise in Defined Benefit administration.
  • Support client projects, operational enhancements and business process improvements.
  • Research and resolve complex data, plan and operational issues.
  • Partner with internal teams to design and implement solutions improving client and participant experiences.
  • Assist with corporate actions and change orders for client pension plan administration.
  • Participate in meetings and planning activities for project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Evaluate business requests and identify impacts to operations, systems and client deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams on initiatives supporting Fidelity’s Defined Benefit business.

Requirements
