Job summary

Santa Clara University seeks an Associate Athletics Director, Counseling and Sport Psychology to lead the comprehensive behavioral health services for approximately 425 intercollegiate student-athletes within the Health, Wellness, and Performance Department.

The incumbent provides individual and group psychological services and collaborates with athletics staff, CAPS, and team physicians to ensure coordinated care, while advancing education on mental health and performance for student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology required.
• California licensed psychologist or licensed eligible required.
• Specialized training or experience in sport psychology.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group psychological services to student-athletes, including evaluations, interventions, and treatment planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary athletic department team to ensure integrated care.
• In conjunction with sports medicine, manage referrals for outside services and adhere to medical directives.
• Offer performance enhancement counseling and education for individuals and teams.
• Develop educational programming on mental health and wellness topics and participate in department meetings.
