Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking an Entry-Level Fund Accountant to support daily fund accounting and financial reporting. You will prepare records, assist NAV calculations, and reconcile accounts in a collaborative environment with mentorship and training provided.

The role is ideal for recent graduates pursuing accounting/finance, offering exposure to mutual funds, hedge funds, and other investment vehicles within a renowned global firm. A strong Excel background and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is expected.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities are important.
  • Internship or accounting/finance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly fund accounting records.
  • Assist in calculation and verification of Net Asset Values (NAVs).
  • Reconcile cash, securities, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Monitor and resolve accounting breaks and reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Process and review investment transactions, including purchases, sales, income, and corporate actions.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

Entry-Level Fund Accountant

Join our Fund Accounting team and build a strong foundation in investment operations and financial reporting. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals interested in accounting, finance, and investment funds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly fund accounting records.
  • Assist in the calculation and verification of Net Asset Values (NAVs) for investment funds.
  • Reconcile cash, securities, and other balance sheet accounts.

Salary Range

$43,200 - 64,800 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
