Lockton Dunning Benefits is seeking an Associate Account Executive to apply industry knowledge and provide technical and operational support to clients and vendors. The role focuses on building strong relationships to deliver exceptional customer service and meeting industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in a business-related field.
  • At least 3 years in the insurance industry, specifically employee welfare benefits.
  • Knowledge of fully-insured, self-insured, minimum premium, ASO arrangements.
  • Experience conducting open enrollment benefits meetings.
  • Experience with a broker and/or employee benefits industry.
  • Ability to interact with vendors and clients and manage plan strategies.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in discussions on strategic planning and consulting for overall plan strategy.
  • Collaborate with clients to determine funding solutions, long-range objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Negotiate baseline quotes with carriers and make recommendations to plan design for smaller accounts.
  • Handle day-to-day issues and questions of clients under team lead’s book of business.
  • Participate in renewals and open enrollment meetings by presenting marketing materials and benefit changes.
  • Assist with RFP production by coordinating vendor responses and preparing client report recommendations.
  • Facilitate quotes, amendments and reinstatements as requested.
  • Interpret clients’ current coverages and identify gaps and changes.
  • Develop financial models and reports for client service team with interpretation of alternatives.
  • Assist in developing an implementation plan including OE meetings and key deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create communications such as OE guides, fliers and presentations.
  • Collaborate with team to review agreements/docs.
  • Conduct industry surveys as requested by client.
  • Participate in client meetings covering claims, utilization, strategies and on-site visits.
  • Research industry trends and carrier offerings by meeting with vendors.
  • Maintain knowledge of governmental compliance to educate and consult clients with legal counsel.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned and/or needed.

This position will develop and maintain favorable internal and external relationships, with the end goal of providing the highest level of customer service by meeting or exceeding industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in discussions on strategic planning and consulting for overall plan strategy
  • Collaborate with clients to determine funding solutions, long range objectives and overall risk tolerance
  • Negotiate baseline quotes with carriers and make recommendations to plan design for smaller accounts

  • Participate in yearly renewals and open enrollment meetings by presenting marketing materials and benefit changes to clients
  • Assist with the production of Request for Proposals (RFP’s) by coordinating vendor responses, analysis and comparison of internal responses, and preparing client report recommendations
  • Facilitate quotes, amendments and reinstatements as requested or needed
  • Interpret clients’ current coverages and identify/recommend gaps, alternatives, additional plan design changes, etc.
  • Develop financial models and reports for client service team, provide interpretation and implication of recommended alternatives
  • Assist in developing an implementation plan to include coordination of OE meetings and other key deliverables
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create communications such as OE guides, fliers and presentations
  • Collaborate with team to ensure proper review of all agreements and/or documents

  • Maintain knowledge of governmental compliance and regulations to educate and consult client(s) by partnering with internal legal counsel
  • Other responsibilities as assigned and/or needed
Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of differing financial arrangements and products available to clients (i.e. fully-insured, self-insured, minimum premium, ASO)

  • Strong working knowledge and experience with a broker and/or employee benefits industry
  • Ability to interact with vendors and clients by building strong relationships and effectively managing plan strategies
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
