Lockton Dunning Benefits is currently seeking an Associate Account Executive responsible for applying industry knowledge as it relates to technical and operational support to both clients and vendors. This position will develop and maintain favorable internal and external relationships, with the end goal of providing the highest level of customer service by meeting or exceeding industry standards.

Responsibilities

1. Participate in discussions on strategic planning and consulting for overall plan strategy.
2. Collaborate with clients to determine funding solutions, long-range objectives and overall risk tolerance.
3. Negotiate baseline quotes with carriers and make recommendations to plan design for smaller accounts.
4. Handle day-to-day issues and questions of clients under team lead’s book of business.
5. Participate in yearly renewals and open enrollment meetings by presenting marketing materials and benefit changes to clients.
6. Assist with the production of Request for Proposals (RFP’s) by coordinating vendor responses, analysis and comparison of internal responses, and preparing client report recommendations.
7. Facilitate quotes, amendments and reinstatements as requested or needed.
8. Interprets clients’ current coverages and identifies/recommends gaps, alternatives, additional plan design changes, etc.
9. Develop financial models and reports for client service team, provides interpretation and implication of recommended alternatives.
10. Assist in developing an implementation plan to include coordination of OE meetings and other key deliverables.
11. Collaborate with Marketing to create communications such as OE guides, fliers and presentations.
12. Collaborate with team to ensure proper review of all agreements and/or documents.
13. Conduct industry specific surveys as may be requested by client.
14. Participate in client meetings to review large claims, abnormal utilization results, monthly claims experience, set strategies and goals, and conduct on-site claim visits.
15. Research and understand industry trends and carrier product offerings by facilitating meetings with vendors on new products.
16. Maintain knowledge of governmental compliance and regulations to educate and consult client(s) by partnering with internal legal counsel.
17. Other responsibilities as assigned and/or needed.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent years of experience.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically in employee welfare benefits.
3. Strong knowledge of differing financial arrangements and products available to clients (i.e. fully-insured, self-insured, minimum premium, ASO).
4. Experience conducting open enrollment benefits meetings.
5. Strong working knowledge and experience with a broker and/or employee benefits industry.
6. Ability to interact with vendors and clients by building strong relationships and effectively managing plan strategies.
7. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
8. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
