Publicis Sapient in Arlington, VA is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to join a hybrid engineering team building modern web applications with Angular and Java Spring Boot. Qualifications

• Experience in backend Java development with Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Experience in system design, decomposing complex problems into services and data models.
• Hands-on AWS deployment (ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB).
• Experience with Angular (v2+) and TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and data processing.
• Familiarity with OpenAI, Azure AI Services, LangChain is a plus.

As an Associate Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of modern web applications using Angular and Java Spring boot. Working as part of an agile engineering team, you will build user-facing features, develop backend services, and collaborate with senior engineers to deliver high-quality digital solutions. Your focus will be on writing clean, maintainable code, learning best practices, and growing your technical expertise across both frontend and backend development.

Qualifications

Your Skills & Experience

• Experience in backend Java development with a focus on Java Spring Boot, RESTful APIs.
• Experience in system design, with the ability to decompose complex problems into well-defined services and data models.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying production services onAWS(e.g., ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB).
• Experience in Angular (v2+) including components, services, routing, state management, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and responsive web application development.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, hibernate, JPA and related Java frameworks.
• Proficiency in RESTful API design, development, and security best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Python programming for application development, automation, scripting, data processing, API integration, or AI/ML-enabled solutions.
• Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies in software development, including designing and building semantic search platforms, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) applications, intelligent document search solutions, and AI-powered developer productivity tools.
• Familiarity with technologies such as OpenAI, Azure AI Services, LangChain, vector databases, embeddings, and modern AI application architectures is a plus

• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra).
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.

Set Yourself Apart With

• Experience with serverless computing and event-driven architecture.
• Knowledge of API gateways (e.g., AWS API Gateway) and service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio).
• Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Developer/Solutions Architect).
• Exposure to DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in shell scripting (e.g., Bash)for automation and operational tasks.

Additional information

Annual Pay Range (Total compensation in USD): $85,000 - $110,000
