Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters from discovery through trial.
• Conduct discovery and evaluate liability, damages, and overall case strategy.
• Prepare cases for trial, including witness and exhibit preparation.
• Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery papers, and appellate submissions.
• Appear in state courts and argue motions.
• Handle bench trials and other courtroom proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and other parties.
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.
• Manage multiple matters and meet demanding deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the State of New Jersey.
• At least 2 years of general civil litigation experience.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-7 years of general litigation experience, particularly involving substantive legal writing and trial preparation.
• Prior courtroom and trial experience.
• Experience drafting and arguing motions.
• Strong negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, solve problems, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
