A Day in the Life

The Associate Production Planner supports production planning and scheduling activities to ensure materials, components, and finished goods are available to meet manufacturing requirements. This role coordinates production schedules, monitors inventory and material availability, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to support on‑time production and efficient material flow across the manufacturing operation.

The Production Planning function supports manufacturing operations by aligning production schedules, material availability, and inventory requirements to meet customer demand and operational objectives. This team partners closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Logistics, and Demand Planning to maintain a reliable flow of materials and finished goods throughout the production process.

This position is located in Villalba, Puerto Rico and is an onsite role.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules and directs material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of raw and approved finished goods materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, inventory levels, and potential production or material supply disruptions to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided on‑time and at an optimal cost.
  • Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, demand planning, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 0 years of experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship, co‑op, or project experience in production planning, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or inventory management.
  • Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and production scheduling processes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and planning activities.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, demand planning, and supply chain processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams to resolve operational or material planning challenges.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Basic computer programming knowledge.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
