Organizational context: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is partnering with the National Council of Justice (CNJ) in Brazil on a project to strengthen cybersecurity and transparency within the judiciary. This initiative, named Justiça [+Segura], aims to develop and implement tools and strategies to enhance digital security, data preservation, and information integrity. The project operates under a governance structure with transversal coordination units and specific work fronts focused on compliance, operations, governance, and fostering a cybersecurity culture.
Job purpose: The Assistant Design and Layout professional will be part of the Training and Communication Unit, responsible for developing graphic and visual solutions for institutional products across print, digital, and audiovisual media. This role involves creating layouts, designing publications, developing and applying visual identities, and producing graphic assets and visual resources. The objective is to ensure technical quality, visual consistency, and adherence to the institutional guidelines of both CNJ and UNDP. The professional will collaborate closely with CNJ and UNDP teams to support the project's communication and knowledge management efforts, contributing to the effective dissemination of information and the overall success of the Justiça [+Segura] initiative.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Design and Layout will develop graphic and editorial products, including visual identities, layouts, and diagrams for institutional communications in print and digital formats. This includes assisting with the layout of reports, booklets, newsletters, and presentations, and preparing files for digital publication and graphic production. The role also involves supporting the production of visual content for websites, social media, campaigns, and events, transforming data into infographics and visual resources, and adapting materials for various platforms and audiences. Additionally, the position requires basic image editing, producing graphic elements for audiovisual content, and ensuring adherence to UNDP and CNJ visual identity guidelines. The assistant will manage design archives, maintain visual standardization, and support creative development and quality control of graphic materials.
Education: A High School Diploma is required. A University Degree in Design, Advertising, Marketing, Social Communication, Visual Arts, or related fields is considered an advantage but not mandatory. Fluency in Portuguese is required, and intermediate English proficiency is desirable.
Work experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in graphic design is required for candidates with a High School Diploma, or 2 years for those with a University Degree. Experience should include layout design for publications, development of visual identities, and creation of graphic materials for print and digital media. Experience with IT tools, Microsoft Office, and design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva is essential.
