Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife seeks compassionate individuals to join our Assisted Living team as Assistant Living Resident Assistants. You will help residents with Activities of Daily Living in a family-like campus setting, supporting dignity and independence.

Shifts are part-time evenings, 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m., with holiday rotation and potential weekend rotation; PRN opportunities are available. We value teamwork, respect, and person-centered care for our residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• First Aid Certification required.
• Previous care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide encouragement and high-quality care in a cheerful, timely manner.
• Assist residents with daily living activities (oral care, toileting, bathing, incontinence, dressing) with compassion.
• Provide supervision and assistance with transfers and ambulation as needed.
• Move carts and laundry through work and resident areas safely.
• Communicate and coordinate with residents and team to meet needs.
• Work under nurse supervision and direction.
• Respond quickly to emergency calls from residents as directed by the nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide encouragement and high-quality care in a cheerful, timely manner
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, including oral care, toileting, bathing, incontinence and dressing in a caring and supportive manner as needed per resident
• Provide supervision, cueing or other non-weight-bearing assistance related to transfer ambulation as needed per resident
• Roll carts, laundry hampers and other equipment safely through work and resident areas
• Communicate, coordinate and cooperate with resident needs and team structure
• Work as a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge
• Quickly respond to emergency calls from Independent Living residents as directed by the nurse in charge

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma/GED preferred
• Certification: First Aid Course
• Experience: Previous experience preferred
